As I said, I was a little surprised by that, but only because, at the time, I didn't really understand:
--How difficult it is to acquire HIV, and
--The realistic mechanisms by which one acquires HIV
Now, I didn't fully accept what the doctor was telling me at the time, but, once I had calmed down and done some more reading, I came to the realization that, even with all the blood, I didn't have much chance of having caught anything, let alone HIV.
